Lie #1: Firing Walt Monegan

Sarah Palin stated on July 17 that Walt Monegan was not pressured to fire Wooten nor was he dismissed for not doing so:

"To allege that I, or any member of my family . . . directed disciplinary action be taken against any employee of the Department of Public Safety, is, quite simply, outrageous."
Oh really? Because on October 10, 2008:
A legislative committee investigating Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has found she unlawfully abused her authority in firing the state's public safety commissioner. The investigative report concludes that a family grudge wasn't the sole reason for firing Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan but says it likely was a contributing factor.
Of course, after the report was released Palin denied being found of any wrongdoing.
Well, I’m very very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing … any hint of any kind of unethical activity there. Very pleased to be cleared of any of that.
Lie, lie, lie...
